Mandarin Stained Glass, established in Lakewood, WA, in 1974 by Florence Welborn, played a crucial role in democratizing the art of stained glass, bridging the gap between professional ecclesiastical work and the increasing demand for residential and hobby applications. Since 2024, Florence's daughter, Caroline Lahman, has carried forward this mission, offering artists and hobbyists in the area a rich selection of stained glass and supplies. Mandarin Studios is also a vibrant educational hub, having instructed hundreds in techniques such as Stained Glass (Lead and Copper Foil), Mosaics, Fusing, Painting on Stained Glass, Ornaments, and Repairs. These classes empower students to realize their creative visions in both classic and contemporary stained glass designs.
